On the day of Good Friday, some Christians will attend special church services or prayer vigils. It is the day of mourning prayer for Christians. On this day, the candled are often extinguished and statues, paintings and crosses may be draped in black, purple or grey cloth. Some Christians treat Good Friday as a day of fasting.
